kasah is the recording name of Akash Majumdar, a singer-songwriter and producer whose work moves fluidly through genres: fingerpicked guitar, close-mic'd vocals, and writing that stays plainspoken even when the subject isn't. Trained across disciplines from jazz to Hindustani classical, he pulls from that background to build narratives that land as relatable rather than ornamental.

The through-line is geography. Kolkata, New York City, and now Nashville each show up in the songs, less as setting than as accumulated habit: the ornamentation of one tradition sitting inside the phrasing of another.

He released a run of singles in 2020, including "Happy for a Day," "You Are My Everyone," and "Cross My Bridge," followed by "Tryin'" in 2022, whose video was directed by Que Peterson.

His debut EP ‘Brutal, Yet Kind’ arrives October 2. Pre-save now!
